+ How far in advance should I book a wedding photographer?
As soon as you can! We book weddings up to 18 months in advance and portrait sessions up to 3 months in advance. A general rule of thumb is to book your photographer as soon as you book your wedding venue. To get a head start, message us once you get engaged so you have time to review details and will be ready to pay the deposit as soon as your venue is booked. If you're really a planner and you (or most likely your spouse) know you're getting engaged soon and want to book us for the wedding immediately, CMC will document your proposal for free!
+ How many hours of wedding day coverage do I need?
We always recommend hiring a photographer for at least 6–10 hours, depending on how you layout your wedding day schedule. We will help you decide which package is best for you!
+ When should I plan for my ceremony to begin?
If you’re doing a first look, plan for your ceremony to be 1 hour before sunset. If you’re not doing a first look, plan for your ceremony to be 2–3 hours before sunset. This allows us to have enough lighting for wedding party, family formals, and pictures of you and your babe!
+ Should I add on a second shooter?
If you want to make the most of your wedding day photos—yes, yes, yes! A second shooter gives you more photos and a larger variety because we can be in two places at the same time and get different angles of everything.
